Botswana get shock away win over Tunisia (Reuters)
A first-half goal from Jerome Ramatlhakwane gave Botswana a shock 1-0 away win over Tunisia at the start of the 2012 African Nations Cup qualifiers on Thursday.

Suarez brace takes Uruguay through
Uruguay are through to the quarter-finals of the World Cup after defeating South Korea 2-1 in Port Elizabeth. Two goals from the prolific Luis Suarez were enough to secure the South American side a place in the last eight for the first time since 1970.



Argentina roll past Mexico
The Argentina show rolls on. Their next stop is Cape Town, for a quarter-final against Germany, after they beat Mexico 3-1 in Johannesburg with another excellent attacking display, led by Lionel Messi and Carlos Tevez. Two goals from Tevez and one from Gonzalo Higuain gave Argentina victory, with Javier Hernandez replying for a Mexico side who gave the Argentina defence a far more rigorous workout than anything they had experienced in the group stages.

Spain Hit Stride Against Negative Portugal

On Tuesday Spain thrashed Portugal 1-0. In the Iberian derby Carlos Queiroz's side were given a hiding in almost every department except the scoreline.
