Manchester United midfielder Anderson was dragged out of a burning car but escaped with only minor injuries after an early-morning crash in Portugal, local media reported on Sunday.

A Victory for the Sport

Not even the most ardent Netherlands fan could argue that they deserved anything more than their 1-0 defeat to Spain in the World Cup final.

Spain dominated for long spells in Soccer City before Andres Iniesta scored the winning goal four minutes from the end of extra-time. I was expecting a cagey performance from the Dutch, who knew before kick off that if they played an open game, they would simply be picked off by their more skilful opponents.
