Wayne Rooney is facing between two and four weeks on the sidelines with a sprained ankle, according to reports. The Manchester United and England striker had to be helped from the pitch in the closing stages of the 2-1 Champions League defeat by Bayern Munich and later left the stadium on crutches.

Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas will miss the rest of the season after a scan confirmed he had broken his right leg. Fabregas suffered the injury in the closing moments of their Champions League clash with Barcelona at Emirates Stadium and is expected to be out of action for at least six weeks.
