Fabregas a fitness concern for Arsenal
Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas is set to be fit to face to face Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday, according to his father. The Spaniard sustained bruising to his right leg and knee in Saturday's Premier League draw at Birmingham and was considered a doubt for the Barcelona tie after missing training on Tuesday.



Man Utd wait on Rooney scan
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson admits Wayne Rooney is doubtful for Saturday's meeting with Chelsea after limping off in Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich. The Manchester United striker hobbled off in the closing seconds of the Red Devils' 2-1 defeat at the Allianz Arena.



Ronaldo scores as Corinthians win, take group lead (AP)
Ronaldo opened the scoring as Brazilian club Corinthians beat Paraguay's Cerro Porteno 2-1 on Thursday to take the outright lead in Copa Libertadores Group 1. Former Real Madrid striker Ronaldo tapped into an empty net in the 37th minute and Chicao put Corinthians 2-0 up with a strike in the 64th.

Fabregas out for the season
Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas will miss the rest of the season after a scan confirmed he had broken his right leg. Fabregas suffered the injury in the closing moments of their Champions League clash with Barcelona at Emirates Stadium and is expected to be out of action for at least six weeks.



Rooney out for up to four weeks
Wayne Rooney is facing between two and four weeks on the sidelines with a sprained ankle, according to reports. The Manchester United and England striker had to be helped from the pitch in the closing stages of the 2-1 Champions League defeat by Bayern Munich and later left the stadium on crutches.
