Burch scores twice, United beat Rochester 2-0 (AP)
Defender Marc Burch scored twice and D.C. United beat the second-tier Rochester Rhinos 2-0 Tuesday night in the third round of the U.S. Open Cup. Burch scored in the 78th and 85th minutes for D.C. United, who advanced to the quarterfinals of the tournament open to essentially all American soccer clubs. The Rhinos play in the USL First Division, one level below Major League Soccer.

Aragones hails 'brilliant' Spain
Spain coach Luis Aragones praised the style of football played by his side after their 1-0 victory over Germany in Sunday's Euro 2008 final. "All those that love football want to see it played that way," he said. "People want players who can pass well and get into the penalty area and score goals.

Steve Ralston scored once in each half to lead the New England Revolution to a 2-1 victory over Toronto FC on Saturday night. Ralston banged in a rebound off Adam Cristman's header in the 12th minute. He followed up Kheli Dube's drive off the Toronto crossbar in the 59th minute. The Eastern Conference-leading Revolution improved to 9-4-3.

Dynamo Uses OT to Advance
HOUSTON, Nov. 2 -- Brian Ching and Brad Davis led Houston to the Western Conference final on Friday night, scoring in overtime after the Dynamo beat FC Dallas, 2-1, in regulation to tie the two-game, total-goals series.
