Niemi taken to a hospital with head injury
Fulham goalkeeper Antti Niemi was taken to a hospital with a neck injury after falling onto his head during Monday's 0-0 draw with Watford. The incident happened nine minutes into the second half at Craven Cottage. Challenging for the ball with Liam Rosenior and Watford's Darius Henderson, Niemi landed on his head as he dropped to the turf. The game was held up for nine minutes as Niemi was placed in the recovery position and then carried from the field.

The new coach is an American who worked his way through one obscure league after another -- APSL, CISL, NPSL and MISL -- before Major League Soccer came along 10 years ago.
