Real Salt Lake has already begun the process of replacing Freddy Adu, with several players beginning or due to arrive in Utah on travel. Adu's move frees up considerable salary-cap space for coach Jason Kreis to play with, and Frenchman Tony Versailles and Nigerian Uche Chinyere have already begun training with the team with views to possible deals. Argentinians Edgar Espinola and Javier Morales are also expected. It's all part of a plan that has long been in place for the day Adu left. We've really for the last several months been scouring the earth for players, Kreis told PA SportsTicker. We always thought this might happen and we wanted to be prepared. Even so, Kreis admitted it wasn't immediately obvious what kind of player the club needed to fill the hole left by Adu. When we signed (Adu) we really brought him in as a left-sided midfielder but you saw in the Boca game that he can be really effective as a second striker, so maybe it is a striker that we need to replace him with, he said.
