Germany edges Ireland 1-0 in Euro qualifying
Lukas Podolski scored in the second half Saturday to give Germany a hard-fought 1-0 win over Ireland in European Championship qualifying.
Podolski scored in the 58th minute from a free kick that deflected off Ireland captain Robbie Keane to allow Germany to beat an opponent it has traditionally struggled against.
