Confusion as Scolari withdraws from England race
Luiz Felipe Scolari appears to have ruled himself out of the running to become the next England coach. However, there is still some confusion as to whether he has rejected the job. "The English FA is going to choose a name. My name isn't one of them because I'm closing this matter here," he said.

Scolari confirms England approach
Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari has admitted he has had talks with the Football Association about replacing Sven-Goran Eriksson as England coach. Scolari says it was an "informal" chat with the Portuguese FA's consent but insists no deal has been agreed. "The coach has still not been chosen," Scolari told the website of Portuguese newspaper Diario de Noticias.

Terry out for season, will be ready for World Cup (AP)
Chelsea defender John Terry will miss the rest of the Premier League season with a leg injury, but is expected to be fit to play for England at the World Cup. Terry needed stitches to close a gash in his right shin, picked up in Saturday's 3-0 victory over Manchester United. The win clinched Chelsea's second straight Premier League title.

Dynamo 1, Rapids 0 (AP)
Brian Ching scored an unassisted goal in the 16th minute to lead the Houston Dynamo to a 1-0 win over the Colorado Rapids on Saturday night. Ching scored on his own rebound after a corner kick by Dwayne De Rosario. Colorado goalkeeper Joe Cannon dove to his right to block Ching's header, but Ching put the rebound in.
