Euro 2008 draw
The draw for the qualifying competition for Euro 2008 has taken place in Montreux. France were paired with Italy, who they beat in the final of Euro 2000, in what looks to be the toughest of the qualifying groups. 2004 European champions Greece have been handed a stern test against Turkey as they begin the defence of the trophy they won in Lisbon in July 2004. Greece will also face Norway, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Hungary, Moldova and Malta in Group C if they are to qualify for the 2008 finals.

Palermo dismisses coach Del Neri
Palermo dismissed coach Luigi Del Neri shortly after a 3-1 home loss to underdog Siena in the Serie A on Saturday. The decision to fire Del Neri following the team's eighth loss in 22 league matches was taken by club president-owner Maurizio Zamparini, and announced by vice president Guglielmo Micciche. Del Neri's replacement would be named on Sunday, Micciche said.
