The defending champion D.C. United look to make up ground in the Eastern Conference as they face the only team below them in the standings in a matchup with the Columbus Crew. With 19 points through 14 matches, D.C. has followed its MLS Cup title with a disappointing start in 2005 as it stands fifth in the East, five points ahead of Columbus.

It's Not The Attendance
US National Soccer Players Association: At first glance, the attendance figures for Major League Soccer from last weekend don't look good. Only one team - D.C. United - drew more than 12,000 fans. San Jose and Chicago both failed to break the 10,000 mark. In fact, D.C. United had the only two attendances over 14,000 last week, drawing just over that for a midweek game against Chicago.
